Awarded the European Green Capital award in 2012, the official capital of the Basque country offers a very interesting “green” town planning. Surrounded by its green belt, Vitoria offers two very different but both interesting views: the new development quarters – mainly residential areas with some extraordinary buildings for example by Ercilla y Campos. On the other hand, there is the old medieval city core with a very specific gothic structure along with some modern architectural pearls like the archaeological museum by F. Mangado.
